Adivi Sesh’s Goodachari, directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka, made the spy thriller genre famous in Tollywood. Currently, Gooachari’s sequel, G2, is in the making. But Sashi Kiran isn’t directing it. Vinay Kumar Sirigineedi is getting introduced as the director with this second installment. During the promotions of Satyabhama, a journalist asked Sashi Kiran why the director was changed for the second part.

Sashi Kiran Tikka said, “Everything is fine between Sesh and me. Actually, Vinay Kumar, who worked as an A.D. for Major and Goodachari, is directing Goodachari 2. Sesh and I collectively made this decision. Vinay knows the Goodachari world really well. Even if I wake him at 3 AM, Vinay tells me every minute aspect about Goodachari. He is very clear. It is a deliberate choice.”

Sashi Kiran Tikka added, “I also have other commitments. I have a film to direct, and I was busy producing Satyabhama. So we decided to give the responsibility to Vinay Kumar.” Banita Sandhu, of October and Sardhar Udham fame, plays the female lead in G2.TG Vishwa Prasad and Abhishek Agarwal are producing the movie under the banners of People Media Factory, Abhishek Agarwal Arts, and AK Entertainments.
