Sara Arjun, who shot to fame with the Bollywood blockbuster Dhurandhar, later appeared in the Telugu film Euphoria, directed by Gunasekhar. It has now been revealed that Sara was the first choice for Srinivasa Mangapuram, which marks the debut of Mahesh Babu’s nephew, Jayakrishna Ghattamaneni. However, Rasha Thadani eventually bagged the female lead role.
Speaking in an interview, director Ajay Bhupathi said, “Yes, we did consider her (Sara Arjun). I felt she was too young to play the role at that point in time. Dhurandhar hadn’t released by then. I think there were also some issues with the casting agency.”
Rasha Thadani, daughter of Raveena Tandon, is making her Telugu debut with Srinivasa Mangapuram. Ajay Bhupathi revealed that he cast her after watching her YouTube videos and was impressed by her acting skills.
Will the project turn out to be a successful launchpad for Rasha? We’ll have to wait and see. The film, which also stars Mohan Babu, is slated for a theatrical release on July 30.
