Bellamkonda Sreenivas is ready with his new film Rakshasudu which is up for a release tomorrow. On this occasion, we caught up with him for a detailed interview. Here is the transcript.
What made you choose a remake?
I happened to watch the original and the film stuck in my head completely. We tried hard to bag the dubbing rights for over two months. I played a cop earlier and this part had a very serious emotion attached to it and felt that as an actor the film will challenge me completely.
How was it making the film?
Right from the first day, we have kept the emotions real. I was very affected during the shoot as I love kids and seeing them go through such serious issues disturbed me a lot. There is absolutely no heroism shot in this film including the locations and narration.
What kind of homework did you do for the film?
I read a lot of newspaper articles during the making of the film. Trust me, I did this film with my heart and acted from within. All the emotions were real and you see me as an actor than a star with this film.
About your testing times in your career?
I have been working hard for all my films but there are certain films which did not work for me. I did this film and Sita with a lot of passion and feel that Rakshasudu will change things for me.
About the output of the film?
I am super confident that the film will surely work at the box office and will bring a good name for me. I showed my friends this movie yesterday and they really liked it very much and felt very proud of myself.
Why are you always inclined to only doing commercial films?
Becoming a top commercial hero is my ultimate dream. I love playing those roles and trust me it is not at all easy to just walk and dance in films. After making a slow start, everyone’s dream is to gro big. Even though I am being written off, I am here to stay and love doing commercial films.
How are you planning your future?
I have been in the industry for the past five years. From now on, I will be very choosy and attempt different films and prove myself as an actor.
