RX100 fame Karthikeya is ready with this new film Guna369. As the film is ready for a release, we caught up with him for a detailed interview. Here is the transcript.
How disappointed were you with Hippi’s failure?
Hippi was a film which was made with a lot of heart. We made the film targeting the youth and today’s generation. But sadly, the film did not click and disappointed many of my fans who were waiting for a good film post RX100.
Why the title Guna369?
From day one, we wanted to name the film Guna. As Kamal Sir’s film already had the same iconic title, we added 369. There is no significance to this number and we added it as it sounded well.
What’s special about the film?
The film is also based on a real-life incident which happened in Ongole. We took the basic inspiration from that story and added a few commercial elements. This script is very close to my heart and will surely impress many when they watch the film.
Working with director Arjun Jandhyala?
Both our sensibilities match a lot. Arjun has written the story with so many good twists which will be thrilling for the audience. Though the film is commercial, there are no elements which are forced on the audience.
What made you choose a negative role in Gang Leader?
Firstly, who said that I am playing a villain. I play a really special role in the film which is quite new to Telugu cinema. Also, getting an opportunity in such a film is a big bonus for an actor like me. This film will give me a big push in my career.
Future Projects?
Apart from Gang Leader, I have okayed three other projects with new directors. I will reveal them soon.
