Is Ramayana Planning a 4DX Release Alongside IMAX? Here’s What We Observed from the LA Screening

The discussion around Ramayana has picked up fresh momentum after its recent teaser screening in Los Angeles, with attention now shifting to whether the film could release in 4DX. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, the project is being mounted on a massive scale and is currently scheduled for a grand theatrical release during Diwali 2026.

As per what has surfaced online, the makers recently flew to Los Angeles and screened an exclusive teaser ahead of its official digital launch on April 2, 2026, coinciding with Hanuman Jayanti. Videos from the event, including interactions with the media, have begun circulating, and the early response to the teaser has been largely positive. The glimpse, said to be around three minutes long, has already generated strong curiosity among those who experienced it at the venue.

What stands out from these visuals is the nature of the screening itself. The teaser appears to have been showcased in a motion-enabled setup, with seats moving in sync with the visuals. This detail has led many to interpret it as a 4DX-style presentation, naturally sparking speculation about whether Ramayana could be aiming for a 4DX release alongside its already discussed IMAX format.

At the same time, this remains an observation rather than a confirmation. There has been no official announcement regarding a 4DX rollout, and the Los Angeles screening could simply be an immersive demonstration designed to enhance the teaser experience. What is more clearly established is the film’s scale, with backing from DNEG and Prime Focus, pointing toward a large-format cinematic presentation.

The film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, alongside Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana, with Sunny Deol, Vivek Oberoi, and Ravi Dubey in key roles. With music composed by A. R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer, the film is positioned as a large-scale global cinematic venture.

For now, the 4DX angle remains speculative. The Los Angeles event has added a new layer of intrigue, but clarity will only come once the makers officially outline the film’s release formats. Until then, the teaser and its presentation continue to build anticipation around what is already one of the most ambitious Indian films in production.
