Hero Ram and director Puri Jagannadh are in need of a solid hit. They have joined hands for the soon-to-release sci-fi action thriller, ‘iSmart Shankar.’ The film has been making a good buzz before its release and expectations among fans and trade circles are quite high.
Owing to the positive buzz, iSmart Shankar has recorded the highest pre-release business in Ram’s career. The film’s theatrical distribution rights were sold for a cool Rs 17 crores. While the Nizam rights were sold for Rs 7.20 crores, the Andhra region rights have been acquired for Rs 6.50 crores. The Ceded rights fetched Rs 3.33 crores.
Finally, the Karnataka rights were sold for Rs 1.50 crores and another Rs 65 lakhs were fetched from the Rest of India. Including other rights, iSmart Shankar has made a total pre-release business of Rs 36.18 crores.
