The news is finally out. Confirming the ongoing speculations, Kollywood stalwart actor Super Star Rajinikanth has just announced that he will not be stepping into active politics. Rajini took to Twitter and made the announcement, just a couple of days before he was supposed to make a formal announcement regarding his political party launch.
Rajini said that his health after the kidney transplant surgery became very sensitive. He added that even with so many safety precautions, a film set itself is not safe these days and that it would be difficult for him to launch a party without meeting people, organizing meetings in the present scenario. He said that the Corona pandemic is a warning from God.
Rajini went on to assure that even though he will not be foraying into active politics, his Rajini Makkal Mandram (RMM) will continue to strive for the welfare of the people of Tamil Nadu. Rajini took this big decision keeping in mind his fragile health condition. It’s well known that he was recently discharged from Apollo Hospitals in Hyderabad after being hospitalized due to severe fluctuations in his blood pressure levels.
Rajinikanth was supposed to announce his political party on December 31st. He was scheduled to launch his party on January 17 at a massive rally in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. Rajini’s u-turn in politics will be keenly observed by political analysts ahead of the upcoming Tamil Nadu general elections.
