A grand audio launch event of Thalapathy Vijay’s final film Jana Nayagan / Jana Nayakudu was held last night in Malaysia. The star attended the event and was greeted by a massive turnout of fans.
During his speech, director H Vinoth clarified a few key points about the film. Addressing the ongoing speculation, he stated that the movie is not a complete or partial remake, and described it as a 100 percent Thalapathy Vijay film. Speaking about Vijay’s journey, Vinoth added that this phase should not be seen as an end, but as a new beginning.
With this statement, the director officially dismissed reports suggesting that the film is a remake of Balakrishna’s Bhagavanth Kesari. However, the promos and styling revealed so far have drawn comparisons with the Telugu film, as they appear to follow a similar template. After Vinoth’s clarification, it remains to be seen how the makers have developed the story while retaining only the core idea, if any.
Jana Nayagan marks the final film of Thalapathy Vijay before his full-time political entry. The film features Bobby Deol as the antagonist. Pooja Hegde, Mamita Baiju, Sunil, and several other notable actors play important roles.
The project is backed by KVN Productions, with music composed by Anirudh Ravichander. The makers have locked January 9, 2026, as the release date. The film will release in Tamil, along with dubbed versions in Telugu and Hindi.
