Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor’s critically acclaimed movie, Homebound, has been chosen as India’s official entry for the 2026 Oscars. The film is directed by award-winning filmmaker Neeraj Ghaywan, and it also features Ishaan Khatter and Vishal Jethwa in lead roles.
Interestingly, Janhvi’s Homebound has reportedly outclassed popular Tollywood movies such as Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule, Vishnu Manchu’s Kannappa, Dhanush’s Kuberaa, and Venkatesh’s Sankranthiki Vastunnam to secure the Oscar entry.
Homebound was also in competition in the Un Certain Regard section at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival earlier this year.The film is produced by Karan Johar, while Hollywood legend Martin Scorsese acted as the executive producer.
