Nani and Shraddha Srinath’s critically acclaimed emotional sports drama, Jersey, had won the prestigious National Awards for Best Regional Film (Telugu) and Best Editing. The awards ceremony was held yesterday afternoon in New Delhi and Vice President of India M Venkaiah Naidu presented the awards to all the winners.
Jersey’s producer Naga Vamsi, director Gowtam Tinnanuri and editor Naveen Nooli received their awards. Last night, producer Naga Vamsi took to Twitter and tweeted an emotional note to thank and dedicate the award to all those who loved Jersey.
“This WIN is for everyone who loved #JERSEY as much as we DREAMT making it! Best Telugu Film & Best Editing at 67th #NationalFilmAwards Thank You, SitharaEnts & Jersey Family,” the young producer tweeted. Jersey is currently being remade in Hindi, with Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur playing lead roles. Gowtam Tinnanuri is helming the remake himself.
