With less than three days to go before Rajinikanth starrer Kaala hits the screens, the film has left many wondering if it will hit the bulls eye at the box office. Unlike Rajinikanth’s recent films, the hype surrounding Kaala is pretty low even in Tamil Nadu. Not to forget, the film has been mired in a lot of controversies, and the film’s Hindi version too is expected to take a moderate opening.

According to a leading Chennai-based portal, several theatre owners opined that with Rajinikanth’s entry into politics, his recent statements haven’t gone down well with a section of the audience. Moreover, some believed that the lackluster performance of Kabali could be a reason why Kaala hasn’t been able to create a huge hype.

However, none of this will matter if the word of mouth about Kaala turns out to be good on the day of its release. Since the film deals with land politics, Rajinikanth’s fans are expecting it to be a thrilling drama with Superstar himself talking about relevant issues. For now, the film is facing an uphill task across the country to grab more eyeballs, and it remains to be seen how audiences are going to react to this Pa Ranjith’s film.
