On this day, in 1959, legendary actor Kamal Haasan made his silver screen debut as a child artiste in the Tamil film Kalathur Kannamma. Kamal fans are trending the hashtag “#58GloriousYearsOfKamalism” and sharing their top 5 favorite Kamal movies on social media to celebrate the 62-year-old actor’s historic journey in movies.
Meanwhile, Kamal, in a special feature for a leading English daily, came up with a list of his top 70 favorite movies made in the pre and post-Independent India.
