Yesterday, Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting him to honor legendary singer SP Balasubrahmanyam with the country’s highest civilian honor, Bharat Ratna. Jagan informed the PM about Balu’s landmark achievements in his illustrious career.
YS Jagan’s initiative to lead the demand for Bharat Ratna for Balu had been winning praises all over. Balu’s longtime collaborator and friend Kamal Haasan too has appreciated the Andhra CM. “The honour you seek for our brother Shri. S.P. Balasubramaniam is a sentiment which true fans of his voice will echo, not only in Tamilnadu but throughout the whole nation,” Kamal told Jagan in a tweet last night.
Thank you Honourable CM of Andhra Pradesh. @AndhraPradeshCM.
