Ever since her failed engagement with Kannada star Rakshit Shetty and her alleged relationship with Vijay Deverakonda, actress Rashmika Mandanna has been targeted by Kannadigas on various occasions. And just as her latest Bollywood project, ‘Chhaava,’ was released in cinemas to glowing reviews, Rashmika is facing the heat from Kannadigas once again.

During a recent Chhaava promotional event, Rashmika stated, “I am from Hyderabad. I have come alone, and today I hope I am a part of all your family.” This angered a section of Kannadigas, who took to social media and blasted the actress. Many criticized Rashmika for forgetting her roots and the very industry that gave her the first big break.

Rashmika hails from Coorg in Karnataka and made her acting debut with Rakshit Shetty’s Kannada blockbuster Kirik Party in 2016. She went on to act in Kannada biggies such as Chamak, Yajamana, and Pogaru. However, after her Tollywood debut with Chalo became successful, Rashmika made Hyderabad her home. And with Pushpa, Animal, and the just released Chhaava becoming pan-India hits, Rashmika is now a name to reckon with even in the Hindi film industry.
