It’s well-known that SIIMA and CCL co-founder Vishnu Vardhan Induri will be co-producing a biopic on legendary Indian cricketer Kapil Dev in Hindi. Titled 83, the film will showcase Team India’s historic world cup victory in 1983. Ranveer Singh reprises Kapil Dev in this much-awaited biopic.
83 was supposed to release on April 5, 2019 and was later postponed to August 30, 2019. But the latest update is that the makers have now set April 10, 2020 as the film’s release date. The regular shooting will kick-start soon after Ranveer wraps up Simmba.
Kabir Khan, the director of Salman Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger and Bajrangi Bhaijaan, will helm this prestigious project, while Bollywood production house Phantom Films will co-produce the movie. 83 will also release in Telugu and other Indian languages.
