Released in 2014, Nikhil and Swathi-starrer supernatural thriller, Karthikeya, went on to become a huge hit. The film was directed by Chandoo Mondeti. Since the last couple of years, Chandoo has been working on a possible sequel to Karthikeya. The film is all set to materialize soon.
While Nikhil and Swathi will once again be reprising their roles in the sequel, another heroine also joins the proceedings. Nikhil will reportedly be sporting a six-pack body in the film.
However, unlike the first part which was set in a small village, the sequel is going to be bigger and ambitious. Chandoo has set the second part in the backdrop of the Kumbh Mela. The film will also be shot across Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. Plans are on to release the film in Hindi and Malayalam too.
Noted Nizam distributor Sunil Narang is said to be producing Karthikeya 2. Stay tuned for an official announcement regarding this project.
