Hero Karthi is celebrating his birthday today. On this special occasion, the makers of his highly-anticipated 25th film, Japan, have just made a surprise announcement regarding the film’s release plans. Conforming the weeks-long speculations, the makers have announced that Japan will be releasing during the Diwali festive season.

But what’s special about the announcement is the absolute banger of a poster. The striking poster is entirely filled with gold theme and it features Karthi in a flamboyant avatar, as he wields two golden machine guns in both his hands. Karthi’s costumes, the gold biscuits in the background and even the golden title logo together hint that the film could be based on gold smuggling. And yeah, do not miss Karthi flashing a smile, revealing his golden teeth.

Japan has Anu Emmanuel playing the female lead. The Raju Murugan is directing this high budget entertainer, which is being produced by SR Prabhu. The film has its soundtrack composed by GV Prakash Kumar. Japan will be releasing in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada languages.
