Karuppu release: Suriya fans have a request for soon-to-be Tamil Nadu CM Thalapathy Vijay

For a long time, early morning shows have been stopped in Tamil Nadu. Even tent-pole projects featuring the biggest stars are being screened only from 9 AM in the state, due to rules imposed by the previous government.

Thalapathy Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam is now set to form the government, and hence movie buffs want him to bring back the glory of Tamil cinema by reintroducing early morning and benefits shows across the state. Karuppu will be the first prominent film to release after the election results, and hence Suriya fans are requesting the to-be Chief Minister Vijay to allow early shows for the rural entertainer.

The film, set against a rural backdrop, is directed by RJ Balaji and stars Trisha Krishnan as the female lead. Suriya fans believe Vijay will bring reforms to help the entertainment industry progress further, given his roots in cinema.
