Chennai police on Monday arrested Tamil actor Srikanth in connection with a drug abuse case. He was summoned for questioning earlier this morning at the Nungambakkam police station, where his blood samples were collected and sent for analysis. Following an extensive interrogation, authorities took him into custody due to his alleged association with an individual named Prasad.
Prasad, a former AIADMK member, had been arrested earlier during an investigation into a pub altercation in Chennai. As the probe unfolded, police discovered evidence of drug involvement. This made them widen the scope of the investigation, eventually leading to Srikanth’s arrest.
The investigation is ongoing, and more details are awaited. Despite making his debut in Tamil cinema, Srikanth is also popular among Telugu audiences as Sriram. He was featured in films like Okariki Okaru, Adavari Matalaku Ardhalu Verule, Dhada, Nippu, Lie, and Pindam.
