Malayalam superstar Mohanlal’s recently released action drama, L2: Empuraan, ended up scripting history by grossing over Rs 260 crore at the box office worldwide. The Prithviraj Sukumaran directorial is currently the highest-grossing Malayalam movie of all time.
On Monday, L2E makers officially announced that they have spent a whopping Rs 170 crore on the making of the film. Incidentally, neither Mohanlal nor Prithviraj had taken a single penny and signed the project on a profit-sharing basis. Following the historic success, all parties involved in the making of this epic action drama took home a huge share.
L2: Empuraan is a sequel to the superhit action drama, Lucifer. The film also features Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Indrajith Sukumaran, and others in prominent roles. Anthony Perumbavoor bankrolled the movie in association with Lyca Productions and Gokulam Cinemas. The film is currently streaming on Jio Hotstar.
