Sunny Deol is currently working on a film produced by Aamir Khan. The historical action drama set during the 1947 Partition was initially titled Lahore 1947, but the makers have now changed its title to Batwara 1947.
Sunny Deol announced the new title with a first-look video that offers a glimpse into the film’s theme. The movie has generated considerable interest as it marks the reunion of Sunny Deol and Rajkumar Santoshi after memorable films like Ghayal, Damini, and Ghatak. Moreover, Aamir Khan’s backing the project has further piqued the audience’s curiosity.
Preity Zinta plays the female lead, while Karan Deol, Shabana Azmi, Ali Fazal, and Abhimanyu Singh are seen in pivotal roles. Batwara 1947 is set for a grand theatrical release on August 14, 2026.
