Laila, starring Vishwak Sen in the lead role, received negative reviews right from the early morning shows. Many felt that Laila was easily Vishwak Sen’s worst film, and the criticism was mainly aimed at the vulgar content and profanity. Due to bad reviews and word of mouth, Laila opened poorly at the box office.
The weekend didn’t help the film much, and according to trade reports, Laila collected a little over Rs. 3 crores gross in its first three days. This is the lowest first-weekend number for any Vishwak Sen starrer, and the distributor share will be approximately Rs. 1.3 crores.
Laila featured Vishwak Sen in a lady get-up, which was projected as the film’s USP (Unique Selling Point). Unfortunately, this aspect backfired, leading to trolls all over social media. This action comedy entertainer, directed by Ram Narayan, stars Akanksha Sharma as the female lead. Sahu Garapati of Shine Screens produced this flick. Leon James composed the tunes.
