In what could be a very sad day for the Indian film industry, noted Tollywood lyricist Sri Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry Garu passed away this afternoon.
He was suffering from lung cancer-related complications and breathed his last today in the KIMS hospital, Hyderabad.
Sri Sirivennela was admitted to KIMS Hospital, Secunderabad, on 24th November with Pneumonia. He was put on ECMO to support his lungs in ICU and was under close observation. But sadly, the doctors could not save him.
The legendary lyricist debuted with the film Sirivennela and has written over 4000 songs in Telugu cinema. His command over the language is known to one and all.
