Mahakali, the female-led superhero film from the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe, is gearing up to release its much-awaited glimpse tomorrow at 11:34 AM. However, the film has already achieved a notable milestone even before the glimpse arrives.
The makers have closed a Netflix OTT deal for a solid amount even before the glimpse is unveiled, making it a significant development for the film. Securing the digital partner this early is a strong sign of the interest surrounding Mahakali even before its promotional campaign fully takes off.
Directed by Puja Aparna Kolluru in her directorial debut and created by Prasanth Varma as part of the PVCU, Mahakali features Bhoomi Shetty in the lead. Akshaye Khanna plays Shukracharya, while Rohit Saraf makes his Telugu debut with the film.
The upcoming glimpse is expected to introduce the world of Mahakali, with Akshaye Khanna’s look and character being major attractions. Produced by Riwaz Ramesh Duggal under RKD Studios, the film has Smaran Sai composing the music and features Khushbu Sundar, Shriya Reddy, Samuthirakani, Rakesh Bedi, Rajat Kapoor, Nassar, Murali Sharma, Prudhviraj and others.
Mahakali is currently targeting a Sankranthi 2027 release, with further clarity expected as the promotional campaign begins. The fact that the film has already secured its Netflix deal ahead of its first major glimpse makes tomorrow’s update even more interesting.
