A legal battle has emerged between Dream Warrior Pictures and the makers of Bholaa, starring Ajay Devgn and Tabu. The dispute revolves around alleged copyright and remake rights violations linked to the original Tamil hit Kaithi, starring Karthi.
Dream Warrior Pictures has approached the Bombay High Court, claiming unpaid dues and breach of agreement. The production house states that it holds complete intellectual property rights to Kaithi and had entered into agreements for the Hindi remake.
However, it alleges that only partial payment was made, with significant dues still pending. The case was heard by a bench who has reserved the order on whether the court has jurisdiction.
Meanwhile, Dream Warrior has also sought a stay on the distribution and monetisation of Bholaa, making this a high-stakes legal showdown in the industry.
