Pallichattambi is an upcoming PAN-Indian period drama starring Tovino Thomas and Kayadu Lohar in the lead roles. Directed by Dijo Jose Antony, the film revolves around migrant farming communities in Kerala’s high ranges. The movie is slated for a theatrical release on April 10, and the team has begun Telugu promotions.
During a recent event, Tovino Thomas made a shocking remark about Telugu films. When asked about when he would star in a straight Telugu project, he said, “I would definitely love to do a Telugu film. The working culture is quite different in Malayalam cinema. We usually complete a film in one go (a single schedule), whereas in Telugu, there are multiple schedules.”
Tovino also clarified that he is not part of the NTR–Neel film, as he cannot allocate multiple dates for a single project, and his revelation has indeed come as a big shock for NTR fans.
Tovino added, “I don’t like doing multiple films at the same time. I prefer finishing one before moving on to another. With Telugu films, I may have to wait almost a year for completion. I understand the scale is bigger here, but doing one Telugu film could affect four to five of my Malayalam films. I can’t dishonor my commitments by waiting an entire year for one project.”
