Malayalam thriller Officer On Duty, starring Kunchako Boban in the lead role, turned out to be a dark horse at the ticket windows. Officer On Duty collected close to Rs. 50 crores gross worldwide and is the highest-grossing film at the Kerala box office in 2025. The movie came amidst low buzz, but the tables turned due to positive reviews and word of mouth.
Jithu Ashraf directed this film, which marks his directorial debut. The latest update reveals that Officer On Duty will be available for streaming on Netflix from March 20. The movie will stream in Malayalam, Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, and Kannada languages from the said date. The theatrical window is four weeks.
Unlike most Malayalam movies, the OTT rights were sold even before the release. Since the multiplexes already had info about the OTT release schedule, they refused to screen the Telugu version, which hit the screens yesterday. Priyamani, Jagadish, Vishak Nair, and Aadukalam Naren played crucial roles. Jakes Bejoy composed the tunes.
