This Friday one of the most anticipated PAN Indian projects Ponniyin Selvan is hitting the screens worldwide. The movie team is going all out to promote the film. Meanwhile, many started to compare the film with the most popular fantasy show Game of Thrones. In an interview, Mani Ratnam was asked if Ponniyin Selvan is the Tamil version of Game of Thrones.
The ace director has come up with an epic reply here. Game of Thrones is the English version of Ponniyin Selvan, said the Geethanjali director. This response from Mani Ratnam has baffled many. For the unversed Ponniyin Selvan is based on a novel with the same name written by Kalki Krishnamurthy in 1955.
The period action drama is bankrolled jointly by Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies. It has an ensemble cast of Vikram, Aishwarya Rai, Karthi, Trisha, and Jayam Ravi. Academy Award-winning music composer AR Rahman is giving the soundtracks.
