Legendary filmmaker Mani Ratnam’s next release is Inji Vellam, a romantic drama starring Vijay Sethupathi and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles. The film, set against the backdrop of Kolkata, has now wrapped up its shoot.
Inji Vellam went on floors on July 23, and in less three months, the production has been completed. While many youngsters are taking forever to complete shoots, resulting in budget escalations, Mani Ratnam’s efficiency at this age, wrapping up the entire shoot at lightning speed, is truly inspiring.
This can only be possible when the planning is meticulous. Madras Talkies is bankrolling the project in association with Lyca Productions and India Talkies. AR Rahman is composing the music. The movie is set for a Pongal 2027 release.
