Although he has been largely successful as a director, Maruthi has also produced several low budget movies that were directed by other directors. However, most of Maruthi’s productions ended up as flops and even received intense criticism. But Maruthi has now decided to not produce any more low budget movies in future.
In a recent interview while promoting Shailaja Reddy Alludu, Maruthi said that he will not produce any more movies under other directors’ supervision. “Me providing scripts for other directors and me finding directors to direct my own scripts are two different things. That’s why I have decided to stop producing movies that don’t have me as director,” said Maruthi.
