Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, starring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel in the lead roles, went on to become an industry hit despite clashing with Aamir Khan’s masterpiece Lagaan. The sequel of Gadar, titled Gadar 2, was released in 2023, and once again, the Sunny Deol starrer stormed the box office and collected more than 500 crores nett. Even Gadar 2 had a clash with Akshay Kumar’s superhit Oh My God 2.

The latest news is that the makers have confirmed a threequel for Gadar and it will go on floors in 2025. Anil Sharma will continue to direct this franchise as per the info. A report in the Bollywood media mentioned that the basic plot of Gadar 3 has already been locked after a lot of brainstorming. Gadar 3 will be also set against the India-Pakistan backdrop with much higher stakes, mentioned the report.

The movie team stated that the threequel is just in the beginning stage and that there will be a lot of development happening over the period of time. According to the report, Anil Sharma and Sunny Deol are currently busy with their respective projects, post which they will start working for Gadar 3. So once again, Sunny Deol will return as Tara Singh to demolish the box office.
