A few days back, we stated that there will be a sequel to Rajinikanth’s blockbuster Jailer. Nelson, who directed Jailer, will also be helming Jailer 2. Till now, there hasn’t been an official announcement from the makers. While promoting her upcoming movie Birth Mark, actress Mirnaa Menon has officially confirmed that Jailer 2 is happening. She played Rajini’s daughter-in-law in Jailer.
Mirnaa Menon said, “I spoke to Nelson sir recently, and he told me that the script work of Jailer 2 is underway. I am unsure if I will be part of Jailer 2. It is purely the director’s choice. If he wants to extend my character, then I will be part of the sequel.”
Rajinikanth is right now busy with the shoot of Vettaiyan, which is being directed by T.J. Gnanavel of Jai Bhim fame. After Vettaiyan, Rajini will move on to film with Lokesh Kanagaraj. So, probably, Jailer 2 might commence after the completion of these two films. Sun Pictures will be bankrolling Jailer 2.
