Collection King Mohan Babu recently appeared in Nani’s The Paradise as the brutal villain Shikanja Malik. Directed by Srikanth Odela, the film marked Mohan Babu’s return in a striking negative role, and the veteran actor recently shared an interesting behind-the-scenes detail.
According to Mohan Babu, Srikanth Odela had promised him during the narration that his character would have a wife in the story. The director even insisted on casting a new face for the role and conducted auditions at the office to find the actress.
However, after the first schedule was completed, Mohan Babu asked when his on-screen wife would join the shoot, only for Srikanth to reveal that the entire character had been removed as part of changes to the story.
Mohan Babu shared the incident with plenty of laughs, playfully teasing Srikanth for “cheating” him with the promise of a heroine and then cutting the character from the film.
The Paradise nearly made Rs. 175 crore worldwide gross by the end of its first week. The film also stars Kayadu Lohar, Raghav Juyal and Sonali Kulkarni in key roles. Anirudh Ravichander composed the music for the SLV Cinemas production.
