The teaser for Mollywood stalwart actor Mohanlal’s Drishyam 2, a sequel to his 2013 thriller, Drishyam, was launched last night. Going by the teaser, is looks like Drishyam 2 will take off from the point where its predecessor ended, by uncovering the protagonist George Kutty’s crime.
Interestingly, despite the huge hype surrounding the sequel thanks to the first installment’s historic success, the makers of Drishyam 2 have decided to skip the theatrical release and opt for a direct OTT premiere due to the continuing theaters shut down across Kerala. The film will have its world digital premiere on Amazon Prime Video in January.
Jeethu Joseph, the acclaimed Mollywood filmmaker who had helmed Drishyam, has also directed the sequel. Former heroine Meena returns as Mohanlal’s wife in this family thriller. Antony Perumbavoor has produced the film under Aashirvad Cinemas banner.
