Santhakumari, mother of Mollywood superstar Mohanlal, passed away this Tuesday at the age of 90. After battling prolonged illness and paralysis, she breathed her last at her home in Kochi, where she had been receiving specialised care.
Known as the wife of the late government official Viswanathan Nair, Santhakumari remained the quiet strength behind her son’s historic career.
Mohanlal, who frequently credited her for his success, notably shared his recent Dadasaheb Phalke Award milestone with her in what would become one of their final public memories together.
