Mohanlal’s latest outing, Thudarum, is going bonkers at the ticket windows. The film’s performance is even taking the trade pundits by surprise. Directed by Tharun Moorthy, Thudarum is a crime thriller that received solid reviews and appreciation.

Thudarum collected approximately Rs. 120 crores gross worldwide in its first week. This is an extraordinary number for a Mollywood film, and the movie is now inching towards the Rs. 200 crore gross mark. In Kerala, this Mohanlal starrer collected close to Rs. 50 crores gross and is expected to mass Rs. 100 crores in the lifetime.

The contribution from international markets is over $7 million. By this weekend, the movie is looking to surpass the lifetime numbers of two of the biggest blockbusters, Avesham and Aadujeevitham. Thudarum was released in Telugu, too, but the movie went unnoticed as there were hardly any promotions.
