Prasanth Varma, who rose to national fame with the blockbuster Hanu-Man, has officially begun the next chapter of his cinematic universe with Jai Hanuman, casting Rishab Shetty as Lord Hanuman.
The film was launched today in a grand traditional ceremony at Anjanadri Betta in Hampi, Vijayanagara, a sacred site widely believed to be the birthplace of Lord Hanuman. The team performed a pooja at the location, adding spiritual significance to the occasion. Rishab Shetty, his wife, Teja Sajja, and Prasanth Varma attended the ceremony in traditional attire.
T-Series head Bhushan Kumar sounded the clapboard, while Anil Thadani rolled the camera for the inaugural shot, directed by Teja Sajja. In a symbolic gesture, Bhushan Kumar, Anil Thadani, Naveen Yerneni, and Ravi Shankar handed over the script to Prasanth Varma. With pre-production underway, regular shooting will begin soon.
Backed by Mythri Movie Makers in collaboration with T-Series, the film is mounted on a massive budget. Producers Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar are aiming to deliver a mythological spectacle with strong emotional depth and high technical standards.
Designed as a high-octane action epic set in Kaliyug, Jai Hanuman explores the idea that Hanuman’s silence reflects purpose, not surrender, concealing a power destined to rise.
There is also buzz about Rana Daggubati playing a key role, though no official confirmation has been made. The technical team includes M.M. Keeravani as music composer, S. Thirunavukkarasu as cinematographer, and Srinagendra Thangala as production designer.
