Kalki 2898 AD is one of the biggest blockbusters in Indian cinema. The Nag Ashwin-directed sci-fi action entertainer, headlined by Prabhas, has a sequel in the works, and expectations are sky-high. During the post-release promotions of Sing Geetham, Nag Ashwin shared a major update on the second installment.
“We might start the regular shoot either in August or September. That’s the update for now. Hopefully, we will work for a long stretch and complete most of the filming. Most of it has already been prepped, and the writing is done. So, it will be a much faster process,” said Nag Ashwin.
Due to creative differences, Deepika Padukone is no longer part of the film, and audiences are eager to know who will play the Sum 80 character. Fresh speculation suggests that Alia Bhatt has been roped in for a key role. The movie also features Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan in pivotal roles.
