Nani’s Jersey is regarded as one of the best films in Tollywood. During the teaser launch event of the actor’s new film Hi Nanna, a reporter said that Nani’s good films like Jersey and Shyam Singha Roy didn’t attain the breakeven mark and ended as cost failures for producers. The reporter further said that Jersey faced losses in a few areas.
However, Nani said that Jersey earned more than 5 times their investment. He added that non-theatrical revenues like OTT and satellite rights also contribute much to the producer and not the theatrical revenue alone. Naga Vamsi, the producer of Jersey, now tweeted that the film fetched them profits.
Naga Vamsi wrote that Jersey made him extremely happy both on creative and commercial ends. He further noted that the film also received national recognition (National Award for Best Feature Film – Telugu and National Award for Best Editing) and unending respect. The movie was also remade in Hindi with Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur.
