National-award winning Tollywood sports drama, Jersey, is being remade in Hindi with the same title. Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor is reprising Nani’s role in the remake, while Mrunal Thakur is essaying the role originally portrayed by Sharddha Srinath. The film is being directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, who helmed the Telugu original.
Shahid interacted with his Twitter fans this evening. When one of his fans asked him to tell something about Nani, Shahid told him that Nani did an amazing job in Jersey. “He made me cry. So I would say he inspired me to do this film,” Shahid added. Talking about his director Gowtam, Shahid said Gowtam is his favourite so far.
Jersey is slated for its theatrical release on December 31. Tollywood producers Allu Aravind and Dil Raju have produced the movie in association with Aman Gill.
