Without a release in national chains (PVR, Inox, Cinepolis), Nani pulled off a stunner with The Paradise in the Hindi belt. The movie earned Rs. 2.15 crores nett from its Hindi-dubbed version despite having a limited release.
To put this into perspective and show how strong this opening is, Ram Charan’s Peddi and Prabhas’ The Raja Saab earned Rs. 2.5 crores nett and Rs. 5.2 crores nett in Hindi, respectively. Both those films were released in the PIC chain, unlike The Paradise.
Odisha is one of the strong areas for dubbed films, where The Paradise earned over Rs. 30 lakhs nett, while Uttar Pradesh also contributed strongly. The movie was barely promoted in the Hindi heartland, yet it clocked a fair opening. This is a result of the goodwill that Nani built over the years through his films, which fared well on digital media.
