Nari Nari Naduma Murari OTT announcement sparks heavy backlash from netizens

Sharwanand’s latest outing, Nari Nari Naduma Murari, emerged as a box office hit. Though many films were released during Sankranthi, the Sharwanand starrer stood its ground. A few hours ago, Prime Video announced that the film will start streaming on Wednesday, February 4.

However, this move did not go down well with audiences, as the OTT window is just three weeks. Netizens are criticising the makers for opting for such a short window, stating that practices like these will impact future releases. Since the announcement came even before the weekend, there is a high possibility that audiences may not turn up to watch the film on Saturday and Sunday, which could drastically limit the collections.

The film is still performing well in multiplexes, but Prime Video’s revelation may put a full stop to the film’s theatrical run. Not just the short OTT window, but even the early OTT announcement could cause severe damage to the industry. Had this announcement come on Monday, the situation would have been much better.

Interestingly, the movie team had confidently stated that the film would have long legs, but the early OTT premiere is completely contradictory to their words. It is high time the industry reconsiders OTT windows; otherwise, we might be looking at the closure of many theatres.
