NBK 111: Balakrishna Eyes December 24 Release, Faces Tough Competition From Big-Ticket Films

Nandamuri Balakrishna, who recently suffered an injury during the shoot of NBK 111, is expected to return to the sets in September 2026. Directed by Gopichand Malineni, the actor is keen to resume shooting soon and avoid any further delay to the film.

The makers are reportedly targeting December 24, 2026 for the release. If locked, NBK 111 will skip the Sankranthi race and arrive during the Christmas season, a window that has previously suited Balakrishna, with both Akhanda and Akhanda 2 releasing in December.

However, the Christmas window will be highly competitive, with Avengers: Doomsday releasing in Telugu alongside Dune: Part Three, while Shah Rukh Khan’s King is also targeting the same period. With major Hollywood and Bollywood films competing for audience attention across markets, NBK 111 will have a tough battle on its hands if it sticks to the December 24 date.

Kajal Aggarwal is paired with Balakrishna, while Venkata Satish Kilaru is producing the film under Vriddhi Cinemas, with S. Thaman composing the music. The teaser has already created strong interest, and fans are now waiting to see Balakrishna in another action-packed avatar.
