New Telugu releases fail to ignite buzz among audience; poor bookings for all films

This Friday, multiple small films are testing their luck at the Tollywood box office: Thiruveer and Aishwarya Rajesh’s Oh Sukumari, Jagapathi Babu’s Vadala, Srikanth’s Mr. Middle Class, Raja The Raja, and Naresh Agastya’s MRP.

Though the first three films feature well-known actors in the lead roles, they couldn’t create any excitement among audiences, and the bookings are extremely poor everywhere. Leave aside excitement, the movies couldn’t even generate awareness among audiences about their release.

The other two films also feature noted actors, but theatre-going audiences are largely unaware of their arrival. When promotions don’t reach the common audience, this situation is bound to happen.

A miraculous turnaround is needed for these films to leave some impact at the box office, and it can happen only if the word of mouth is overwhelmingly positive. Even this weekend, Akhil Akkineni’s Lenin looks set to dominate the marketplace.
