Niharika Konidela, who is now actively focusing on film production, had a proud moment at the 70th Filmfare Awards South. Her production venture, Committee Kurrollu, received two major honours in the Telugu category.
The film officially won:
• Best Debut Director – Yadhu Vamsi
• Best Debut Male – Sandeep Saroj
While the team celebrated the achievement, Niharika later shared a note expressing disappointment regarding the event’s organisation.
Taking to Instagram, she stated that debut winners from Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada cinema were not given an opportunity to speak on stage. She mentioned that for artists at the beginning of their journey, standing on the Filmfare stage is not merely a platform but the fulfilment of a dream.
Niharika added that although time constraints are understandable at an event of such scale, denying even a single minute to first-time winners felt disheartening. According to her, that one minute could mean a lifetime for someone receiving their first major award.
She tagged the official Filmfare handle in her post. Many social media users supported her statement in the comments. As of now, there has been no official response from the organisers.
