Amid high expectations and positive buzz, Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi’s highly anticipated pan-India romantic drama, Thandel, released in cinemas worldwide yesterday. Owing to the solid word of mouth, the film has emerged as a much-needed success in Chay’s career.
In the Nizam region especially, Thandel collected a cool Rs 3.20 crore share on its opening day. The day one gross is somewhere around Rs 5.60 crore. Thanks to the encouraging advance bookings for the Saturday and Sunday shows, Thandel is expected to amass a whopping Rs 8.50 crore share by the end of its first weekend in the Nizam region.
Worldwide, Thandel amassed close to Rs 20 crore gross on the opening day. This is the career-best opening for Naga Chaitanya. The Chandoo Mondeti directorial is produced by Bunny Vas under Allu Aravind’s presentation. Devi Sri Prasad is the film’s music composer.
