Fans planning to watch Vijay’s Jana Nayagan at York Cinemas in Canada will have to follow an unusual ticket booking process. The exhibitor announced there will be no online ticket bookings for the film. Instead, all tickets must be purchased directly at the theater’s box office.

The booking process will happen in structured phases. During the first 24 hours, only VIP members who previously purchased Jana Nayagan tickets and have not yet received a refund can secure seats. The following 48 hours will be exclusively reserved for all other general VIP members.

Ticket sales will open to the general public only after these exclusive priority windows close. Eligible customers must also show proof of their eligibility or valid membership when purchasing tickets at the counter.

This move follows York Cinemas’ previous cancellation of advance bookings due to sudden changes in Jana Nayagan’s theatrical release plans, caused by a lengthy seven-month deadlock with the censor board. The newly implemented system explicitly aims to give priority to affected customers before regular sales begin.

This booking policy applies only to York Cinemas locations in Canada and is not part of the film’s worldwide release strategy. Starring Vijay and Pooja Hegde, the highly anticipated political thriller is officially slated to hit screens on July 23, 2026.
