Music director Thaman has revealed an interesting piece of trivia about Robo, the Rajinikanth starrer directed by Shankar. He revealed in an interview that A.R. Rahman had planned to create a song featuring global pop icon Michael Jackson for the film.
Thaman said that Rahman had even completed an agreement with Michael Jackson in May for the collaboration. However, the legendary singer passed away in June 2009, bringing the ambitious plan to an unexpected end.
Thaman described it as a missed once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and said the industry lost the chance to witness a historic musical collaboration.
Had the song happened, the combination of Rajinikanth, Rahman and Michael Jackson would have created a truly memorable moment in Indian cinema.
