Non-stop discussions on Chiranjeevi’s choice of remakes
Published on Jun 15, 2023 2:30 am IST

After a long gap of almost a decade, Megastar Chiranjeevi had returned to the silver screens with Khaidi No. 150 in the year 2017. The film, which was a remake of Tamil hero Vijay’s Khaithi, was a decent success at the box office. Since his grand comeback, Chiru has appeared in Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, Acharya, Godfather and Waltair Veerayya. While Godfather was a remake of Mohanlal’s Godfather, Chiru’s upcoming film, Bholaa Shankar, is also an official remake of Tamil star Ajith’s Vedalam.

Now, as per the latest buzz, it’s almost certain that Chiru will be starring in the Telugu remake of Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Bro Daddy. And Chiru’s decision to act in yet another remake has led to intense debates on social media.

A section of die-hard Chiru fans is of the opinion that a senior actor of Megastar’s popularity and calibre shouldn’t be choosing to remake his contemporary heroes’ movies and playing it safe at the box office. Some even felt that Chiru should remake at least Korean movies if he has to, but not Indian movies.

On the other hand, another section of Chiru’s loyal fans believes that it’s ultimately Megastar’s choice to choose the kind of projects he wishes to act in at this point of his career. These fans are only hoping that Chiru chooses to collaborate with the right directors who have the talent to make these remakes work. Well, will Chiru pay heed to his fans’ opinions?
