Senior character artiste Hema joined the BJP earlier today. Hema met with AP BJP chief Somu Veerraju and formally joined the party ahead of the soon to be held by-election in Tirupati. The actress had earlier held key posts in the Movie Artiste’s Association (MAA) until a few years ago.
Hema’s first political stint was during Andhra Pradesh bifurcation when she joined former AP CM Kiran Kumar Reddy’s Samaikya Andhra Party. She even contested the 2014 general elections, but lost heavily. She later joined YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s YSRCP in 2019. She also participated in Bigg Boss Telugu Season 3.
